Symptoms: Printing starts nicely, but after a short time the printhead is blocked and no material rendered any more. Issue: Axial fan the front fan was blocked by debris, thus the feed in the printhead would overheat and the material would get to soft. Verify whether the front fan is activated. If not, this is your problem. Ссылка Cleaning out the axial fan using tweezers; to do so, you might have to dismantle the printhead.

My Ultimaker 3 has been printing nicely for quite some time, but the Feeder 1 is currently not forwarding enough material, only dropping occasional dots of Ultimaker 3 feeder problems free. Usually, it starts out nicely, with e. But after minutes, it clogs up and doesn’t print any more. I already tried to clean the print head, cleaned the feeder itself incl. I also tried to change the pressure of the feeder, all to no avail so far. I did only a visual check of the bowden tube, there doesn’t seem to be any debris creating additional friction.

Sometimes the feeder really grinds into the material, and you see where it was blocked, but quite often it also is only having slight signs of having been blocked just a bit of additional material недоумок download zoom exe неправда away, no full grind. I’m a bit lost what might be the reason, ultimaker 3 feeder problems free has had such ultimaker 3 feeder problems free levels of non-feeding already?

Hi StefanF. As lack of this fan gradually increase the temperature at the “cold” upper part of the heat block and make filament become soft here before entering the heater so it will create a lot of additional load for the feeder. Hi Torgeir. There actually was some PLA residue inside mostly threads ; I removed what I saw but didn’t really think ultimaker 3 feeder problems free it too much, so there might be enough left to block it.

Do you have some hints how to clean that fan best? Great, hmm -you might look more closely with a good light and see if there is more that’s locking the fan from rotating. So here’s a video made by fbrc8-erin if needed to open the extruder unit:.

Hey, I guess you were right. Ultimaker 3 feeder problems free video is awesome, I already disassembled it with this guideline, which is also nice:. That menu does not control the front fan. That menu controls the side fans. The front fan is controlled by the firmware and will automatically run when the nozzle is at 50 C. Interesting, then I’ll put it back in it’s ultimaker 3 feeder problems free clean by now and heat up the print core to see what happens.

Thanks for the tip! It’s printing again. I owe the two of you big time! You need to be a member in order to leave нажмите чтобы прочитать больше comment. Sign up for a new account in our community. Oh and yes the marker is in the middle, but I also have tried some other positions with not improvements. Does the arm of the feeder look to be in good condition and not splitting apart? Especially at the end where the ball bearing is. On old feeders the gear on the back of the feeder sometimes moves out of position so that there’s a lot of movement back and forth which can sometimes cause issues.

On newer feeders the gear is riveted in place and can’t be removed, on the initial feeders you can just pull the gear off. I have tried to print to print this astronaut and the feeder had the same problem again and i helped him by pushing the filament as he struggled.

Therefore the print continued to print, but a the last 10minutes of the print, grinded the filament 3 times. In addition I have tried to pull on the gear on the feeder, on the picture you can see the range of movement. Yeah, I’d say the feeder arm is the culprit here. What you can try to do is take it apart gently, the little tabs are easy to break, so go slow and careful and glue it back together again with some epoxy or super glue.

That’s a cheap way to test if you need to buy new parts or not. Or just keep using it if the glued together arm works fine. Yes, I think that would be a good next step. But I would try gluing it first, if that works for a print that usually fails we can pretty much conclude that the arm was the problem.

If the glue is good, it will probably keep working just fine like that and you wont need to buy a new feeder. If you exchange your feeder with a new one and are not afraid of very little tinkering , you also could upgrade to the S5-Feeder s :. The costs for the S5-feeders are about the same as for the UM3 feeders, and the upgrade also contains abrasive-resistance and the filament flow sensor. I have currently interchanged the feeder levers of the two ultimakers and I am testing the faulty feeder right now.

Yea I’m sure now it’s the retraction, because when I pull the filament out, there is not just one grind point, but like 4 severe grind points. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment. This also gives you an idea of the forces involved. BJC 0 Posted January 25, In fact to test out my theory let’s limit it to 10 times so set this: “maximum retraction count” to 10 and set “minimum extrusion distance window” to 4.

A good start sets you up for success and saves you time and energy that could be spent elsewhere. They’re ready for you on the Ultimaker Academy platform. Then I still had a problem with active leveling until I uncompressed all three springs on the build plate. After that, I did a manual leveling. Then I was able to do active leveling. Now printing seems to work again. The bed springs should be not too soft and not too hard. If I remember correctly the distance between the two aluminum plates should be 14mm, not exact, round about There is definately a problem with the middle fan.

Automatic leveling works when I unplug the fan. From my search, I see it is called an axiel fan I am still confused why a working fan can mess up the leveling sensor. I assume it would be best to replace the fan.

Unfortunately the fan seems to be discontinued. Any suggestions or comments? And when leveling works without the fan, then you probably have a damaged fan cable.

The fan creates a lot of interferences when a wire is damaged which causes problems with the capacity sensor used for the leveling process. How hard would it be to splice in new wires? Do you think shrink tubing on the wires might solve the problem? I would use multi tread silicone insulated wire, more expensive -but will never break! If it’s done right. However, check that it is this “wire intermittent issue”, if not, -this can be EMC noise from the internal inverter inside the fan.

Jls I have the fan available here. It’s in stock and available to ship today. In regards to how the fan relates to the active leveling If your fan cable is pinched or damaged, it can create electromagnetic interference while the fan is running, and that interference can disrupt your active leveling readings and cause active leveling to fail.
